Whiteout

This artwork is a blue and white acrylic painting on an 8 x 8 x 3/4 inch wood board created by using just a single brush. Most of the art I created lately were fluid acrylic pours which are amazingly fun to do but I decided to pull out the brush this time. I love minimal paintings with color transitions and I wanted to use only two colors, blue and white. The mixture of these colors I knew would create different shades of each color as they were mixed so I stuck with just two. As the paint dried quickly and I would add more paint in the center to build texture and chaos. The more and more I interchanged the colors, flicked my brush up and/or down, I started to feel movement like wind in the art. Since this art piece has white, blue and now some gray, it started to have the feel of winter. As I stepped back to view my shapes and lines, I was then brought back to driving through snow storms in Massachusetts where I grew up so I named it Whiteout.
